NEW SEMINAR TOPICS:

"Investigating Interdisciplinary Issues: The Treatment Triad"
This is a terrific, cutting-edge half-day workshop for small groups - ideal for study clubs that are focused on fine-tuning communication among general dentists, specialists and patients.  The session starts with traditional lecture focused on clarifying the differences between Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary treatments. Extensive research forms the basis of this segment with insights gained in interviews with interdisciplinary gurus and perspectives from patients who have experienced multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary treatments.  Participants learn what it takes to effectively interview the patient, present the treatment plan and communicate with other offices.  The second part of the program is totally interactive and in workshop format.  Participants form small groups to discuss challenges and apply newly learned concepts.

This program is crucial for any practices and organizations that want to increase their understanding of how interdisciplinary treatment methods differ from multidisciplinary treatment.  The session is foundational for any doctor or study club that seeks clarification of the interdisciplinary communication and process.  SUITABLE AUDIENCE: General dentists and Specialists.  Treatment coordinators are also encouraged to attend. Small groups are best for interactive workshop format.

"The Cohesive Team: Working and Playing Together"
This is a "must attend" session for every dental team ... and every member of the team!  Designed as a workshop, teams work together to understand what it takes to develop a stronger organization.  We investigate the factors that can cause a team to break, and we take a close look at developing the mutual respect so important for a team to function well every day.  This presentation earns top marks from coast to coast.  It is meaningful to the established teams that may have gotten into a rut and to the new teams who want to develop a strong foundation.  The offices that experience frequent turnover find the issues addressed pertinent in understanding what may lead to high turnover rates.
SUITABLE AUDIENCE: All-team attendance.  To get the most from this program the entire team attends together. Any size audience

"Managing Maalox Moments ... Assertively and Confidently"
happy.gif - 2343 BytesEvery day you and your team members are faced with numerous challenges. Some are easily managed others are a lot stickier.  Those difficult people (patients OR colleagues) and tough situations can really put a crimp in the flow and productivity of your office.  In this seminar attendees learn skills to help them manage those maalox moments.  They leave understanding how to face difficult situations and handle them with poise and confidence.

This program was developed with Dr. Jean Corcoran, an associate professor in the Psychology Department of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.  Dr. Corcoran has extensive experience in teaching the skills required to manage challenging situations and she helps clinical patients find the inner resources to deal with difficult situations assertively and confidently.

Dr. Corcoran and I are available to present the seminar for your group. Audiences find the interplay of real-world role plays, audience participation and lecture to be stimulating and thought provoking.  Most importantly, attendees leave with practical information they can put to use immediately in the practice and in their personal lives.  SUITABLE AUDIENCE: Any and all team members, guests and spouses.  Any size audience.
